You’ll have to forgive my tardiness on getting this BLOG up for post…I’ve just returned from my annual southwest sojourn, hunting for gems (figuratively and literally) for Beach Treasures in Duck.

I came upon this rhodochrosite bracelet while shopping – and as we all love to do when visiting a new place – I marveled at how it captured so much of the southwest.  Perhaps the rosy tones of the rhodochrosite don’t conjure up images of bold canyons in the desert, but they sure do capture the sky.  To watch the transformation from brilliant blue to rosy reds and finally to those midnight hues is to be amazed on a nightly basis.

The desert southwest is an inspirational backdrop to be sure. Over the years, I’ve learned a great deal about gems, but not nearly as much as I’ve learned from and about the artisans behind all this exquisite work.
