Ethereal Elements in the Sea & Sky
Ethereal Elements…a palette of soothing calm and serenity derived from the depths of the briny deep and the explorations of space.
Sound about right? Those words are direct from the Pantone Color Institute.
Since the beginning of time, the sea and the sky have inspired us to contemplate eternity and filled us with hope. The expanse of the sky ignites a magical world of dreams, while the majesty of the sea provokes a deep feeling of admiration and respect for its strength.
A riot of blues! Royals and aquas, teals and marines. Sea greens to deep navys…gems and jewels run the spectrum of blue -- the color that symbolizes truth and dependability (think true blue!) and stimulates feelings of calm and expansiveness, just like when we’re at the ocean’s edge or gazing up at our big Carolina Blue sky.
We are naturally drawn to aquatic hues – and it comes as no surprise that the color Classic Blue, a shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk -- was chosen as Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2020. I think it might be fair to say that “blue” (or just about ANY shade of blue) is usually a hands-down favorite here at Beach Treasures in Duck too.
Aquamarine, sapphires, turquoise (in all of its variations), opalite, larimar, and sparkling crystals shine and shimmer and quickly catch the eyes and hearts of so many of our shoppers. In a cartoon world, we would be seeing animated fluttering hearts as abundant as fireflies on a summer’s night. It’s always wonderful to see this kind of delight – knowing that someone has found the perfect pendant or set of earrings.
With spring just around the corner…and days warming up so we can edge a little closer to that big salty sea, I hope you’ll make visiting Beach Treasures in Duck part of your Outer Banks experience. We are located on the Town of Duck's Boardwalk, along the Currituck Sound.
I invite you to shop the magnificent collection of jewelry showcased here and online and thank you for reading our BLOG, “The Treasure Trove.” The super-sparkly pieces pictured in the cover photo (above) feature colorful, hand-set crystals and are currently available in-store only.
