With each passing minute, the sea tumbles the sand, shells, and seaglass lying on the ocean floor.  Oh the stories they could tell us about their travels around the world!

Much of the time, as we walk along the shore, we step over bits and pieces of broken shells – tidbits of flotsam and jetsam that have washed up -- at least for a little while. But on occasion, especially when we’ve finally discovered island time, something about the color or shape of a find beckons us to bend over and pick it up. 

Maybe it’s the colorful shell or its odd shape.  Maybe it glistens…

…and we find ourselves hoping for a piece of seaglass -- a tumbled piece of glass that was once a glass or jar or maybe a bottle full of rum or exotic perfume.  If the same broken glass were lying on the sidewalk, we’d pass them by, giving little thought to the rubbish (or perhaps we’d be inclined to search for a broom!)

But let’s face it – finding a whelk (even pieces of one) and seaglass are treasures we seek! We tuck them away in our pockets or beach bags and display them in the sun for all to see and the sun to warm.  But some take the next step…turning those finds into something more…and at Beach Treasures in Duck we’ve done that with our own brand of seaglass and seashell jewelry: BT★Sterling
